6/27/17: Divatress Human Hair Wigs and Hair Care

This is a sponsored post however as always all opinions are mine.
My daughter is a competition dancer and I have learned a lot about hair pieces.  Originally I had no idea that many of the hair styles the girls had were not really their own hair, but an additional piece or wig that they were wearing.  I found a wonderful company that sells all of these hair extensions and hair wigs called Divatress.  They offer a huge selection of wigs and hair care products.  Many professional stylists shop here but so can you!
Usually we put her hair in to a bun, which I have become an expert at and then put a hair piece over it.  For example when the girls have long pony tails this is usually a hair piece for all the girls to look the same.  Here is an example of one of the pony tails.  Lauren has had several lengths for different routines.  Especially hip hop routines.
So many dancers wear human hair wig or hair extensions.  Lauren also wore one like this with lots of curls.  It looked gorgeous in and even better for me I didn't have to spend hours curling her hair with a curling iron or putting it up in curlers.

As someone who is challenged doing hair styles this is an awesome option for me.  All of their hair pieces come in a variety of colors so you can make sure it matches your daughter's hair.  You should definitely check them out!

6/23/17: Evan Powered by BODYARMOR at Mookie Betts Baseball Camp

Kids these days are super busy and my son Evan is no exception.  He plays baseball, basketball, travel soccer, flag football, swims on the Swim Team and dances Hip Hop.  Needless to say my Saturdays are spent on the fields usually with up to three games.  To keep Evan going and to keep this soccer, baseball, basketball, swim, and dance Mom going we have made the switch to BODYARMOR Sports Drinks.  It helped Evan perform his best at a three hour baseball clinic with the awesome Red Sox player, Mookie Betts!
Yes you heard me right Evan got to go to a 3 hour baseball clinic with Mookie Betts and awesome baseball Coaches.  What perfect timing with him playing his third Championship Baseball Game the day after the Camp.  Check out Evan's group with Mookie.
We got to see Mookie up close too.
He probably doesn't remember but we met him last year at the Red Sox Winter Weekend as I am part of the Red Sox Parents program.
These kids work so hard as sports are so competitive these days.  You could tell with how many kids were at the camp.
Evan brought a friend who also plays baseball and they were so excited to learn from some of the best coaches.
They were in the All Stars Group.
We make sure we always have something for Evan to drink when he is at practices and games.  In fact we have been known to turn around and go home to grab a drink for him.  It is so important for these kids to stay hydrated when they are working hard.  If you haven't tried out BODYARMOR you should definitely check it out.  Not only do they have Sports Drinks but they also have a new Lyte line which is great and BODYARMOR Water.

The Sports Drinks have great flavors that kids love including Lemonade, Grape, Fruit Punch and my favorite is Watermelon Strawberry.  These premium sports drink have no artificial flavors or sweeteners and are a much healthier alternative to traditional sports drinks.  BODYARMOR provides kids with Superior Hydration, are high in Vitamins and potassium, low in sodium, contain coconut water, naturally sweetened with pure cane sugar, and have no caffeine.  I heard many kids during the camp commenting on how much they liked it and asking their parents to buy it.
Here is the Peach Mango Lyte version.  It tastes really good and being the calorie conscience Mom right now that just lost 52 pounds this is the option for me.
This kid loves the taste.  It helps him when he needs to perform his best during baseball Championship Games.
You can find BODYARMOR is available at Stop and Shop, Shaw’s, BJ’s, Target, CVS.
Check out how your athlete can become the next BODYARMOR athlete here: http://bit.ly/2rsSfFI
Disclosure:  This post was sponsored by BODYARMOR who also provided my son and a friend particiaption in ProCamps Baseball Camp with Mookie Betts.  All opinions as always are my own.

5/17/17: TouchTomorrow STEM Event at WPI

Taking the family out for the day can get expensive so when I find a free fun event I jump at the chance to go.  I have an awesome STEM event for the whole family at Worcester Polytechnic Institute called TouchTomorrow!  It is totally free and is happening on June 10th from 10-4 on the WPI Campus.  I have gone in the past and we had so much fun!  Plus it was great for my husband and I to go back to our Alma mater.
Here is some more information about the event from past years, stay tuned to their webpage for the schedule for this year.  You can count on them having a family-friendly festival with hands-on experiments, virtual reality experiences, robotics presentation, research lab activities and more.
As an aerospace engineer I appreciated all of the Space and Robots exhibits by NASA!
Lauren got run over by the Roll-Over-Rover.  She was giggling the whole time.

Get a jump on the fun now by downloading this cool coloring page.  You can also Mad Libs type silly story.
WGBH Education/PBS Learning Media has been there!
There are always a lot of hands-on and family-oriented fun.  In the past you could make a pinwheel and explore wind with this Curious George activity.  Explore water flow and direction with this PEEP and the Big Wide World activity.  A “surprise” Design Squad activity.  Curious George was there in the past.

Innovators at Work - Faculty and current students open up their research labs around campus and share their innovations and discoveries with you.

Come see what it’s like to be a student at WPI.
Labs will open up in: Biology and Biotechnology Biomedical Engineering Chemistry and Biochemistry Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering Electrical and Computer Engineering Interactive Media and Game Development Learning Sciences and Technologies Mechanical Engineering Physics Robotics Engineering.

In the past ther was a station to find out more about non-Newtonian fluids by mixing up some slime.  My daughter would love this, she makes slime all the time!  Here the kids are with Gompei the Goat who is our school's mascot!

There will also be lots of speakers.  When we went we saw Astronaut Cady Coleman.  She spoke about her experiences and showed some really cool pictures from her missions.  You can see the schedule here

We saw some awesome robots.

This event drew more than 10,000 people!

The whole family had so much fun and it got the kids exited about science and engineering.

There was so much to do and see so prioritize what you want to see.  I recommend looking at the schedule online and decide what you really want to go to.  There were many food options, ample parking and by using the campus map you were able to figure out where you wanted to go.
For more information on the 6th annual TouchTomorrow visit them online:

The event goes on rain or shine.  Register now!
So much fun for the whole family!
